How to enable and configure IIS (and ASP.NET) on a Windows 8 PC

Steps to enable IIS on Windows 8 PC are very similar to what you do on Windows 7 PC.

Following are the instructions to enable IIS/ASP.NET on a Windows 8 PC:
  • Open Control Panel 
    • using Charm Menu || Settings || Control Panel
    • or using Search || Apps || Control Panel (shown below)
  • Select "Programs" in Control Panel

  • Select "Turn Windows features on or off"

  • Make sure that all the following features were selected:

  • Once you apply the changes, you should see the progress as shown below:

  • Now, hit "Win Key + R", type "inetmgr" and hit "enter", you should see IIS Manager opened.
